Strategies to continue epilepsy surgery during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a novel infectious caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. COVID-19 was initially detected in Wuhan, China late 2019, and has rapidly spread worldwide. As the battle against becomes more long-term, it become important to consider how perform epilepsy surgery environment with crisis. In this review article, we propose strategies for institutions that surgery. First, discuss importance of coordinating neurosurgical team inter-hospital collaboration as hospital-based initiative. Next, describe three surgical activities: preoperative evaluation, perioperative management, during operation. We also management outpatients postoperative strategy. Finally, mention psycho-logical support medical staff, patients, caregivers. By utilizing these strategies, should make best efforts provide necessary treatment patients epilepsy, even era.
